A LITTLE DIRECTION

Two decks. One beat.

  1. Load a record into A and B. Let the beat analysis finish.
  2. Play your first record. On the other deck, press Sync to match its tempo and line up the beats. If both decks are paused, Sync starts them together. Keep Sync on: it listens to both decks and corrects the following deck if the beats slip.
  3. Move the crossfader from A to B. Use the channel levels and EQ to shape the transition.

Beat lock means Sync has confirmed the timing. During quiet intros or breakdowns it may wait for a clear beat instead of guessing. Sync follows records whose tempo drifts, as vinyl rips often do. It needs a steady kick on the beat: records without one may not lock.

CUE marks a point while the deck is paused, and returns to it while it plays. Pitch stays locked, but large tempo changes can affect sound quality.

The decks support ¼×–4× speed and mono/stereo files up to 128 MB and 15 minutes. Browser audio interruptions may pause the mix. Keep this page open while mixing.
